Uber Employment Appeal Tribunal Fails

The Employment Appeal Tribunal has judged that Ubers drivers are workers. A victory for those campaigning to ensure workers in the ‘gig’ economy have access to a basic level of statutory rights.
It means that any business engaging individuals on a self-employed basis should be assessing whether they are genuinely in business on their own account, or workers. If they are workers they will have certain rights.
If you are concerned at all at how this may affect your business, please contact me.
